Role Description

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers, importers and distributors of work wear and uniform apparel in New Zealand. We are looking for an experienced CAD Patternmaker to join their dedicated team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the patternmaking and specification process ensuring that the design teams styling and fit requirements are accurately translated and meet a high standard within agreed timeframes. You will possess a great understanding and passion for clothing and textiles, with a sound grounding in tailored suiting for men and women.

Ideally you will have minimum 5 years Lectra experience and have an eye for detail and accuracy. You will be accountable for developing pattern blocks, initiating design, generating original patterns and pattern grading. Your Word and Excel skills are second to none and you have great communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with design and production teams. This role will be either a 6-month or 12-month contract.

The role involves:

  • Actioning product development requests
  • Setting up detailed, measurement charts and model sheets for patterns.
  • Creating new CAD patterns for sampling, to digitize and grade patterns if necessary.
  • Ensuring all patterns meet with the quality standards and correct grading formulae.

Requirements

You will have:

  • A sound grounding in, and a passion for patternmaking.
  • Experience in a commercial environment - suiting or corporate wear.
  • A drive for accuracy, and a rigorous attention to detail - such that patterns developed meet rigorous quality and grading standards.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • A flexible, patient and easy-going approach.
  • Excellent relationship and collaboration skills.
  • A strong level of computer literacy; intermediate to advanced in CAD and MS Excel.
