Do you want to know what a GT does? Are you highly technical but no longer want to be a part of the production side as per a Product Coordinator? Do you want to work with the product more from a technical and design prospective? The this is a great role for you!


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

GARMENT SPECIFICATIONS

• Develop and prepare men's & women's garment specifications for Domestic and International Production.
• Garment sketching to accompany garment specifications.
• Communication & liaison with domestic & international suppliers.
• Preparation of samples, swatches & range notes for range release.


GARMENT DESIGN & RANGE INPUT
• Range & Garment design input as required on any of the following categories
          o Menswear and Womenswear
          o Core Products
          o Seasonal Indent Casual Ranges
          o Licensed product ranges
          o Team or Corporate ranges as required
          o New product development
• Close working relationship wit Design Merchandise Manager and other members of Merchandise Team at range development time.


REQUIRED JOB SKILLS
• International & Domestic garment and fabric sourcing experience.
• Working knowledge of garment specifications, pattern making and garment fits for both mens and womenswear.
• Extensive knowledge of knitted and woven fabrics and their relative supply source Domestically & Internationally.
• Thorough knowledge of:

          o Embroidery
          o Screen printing
          o Washing methods, shrinkage & fabric performance.
          o Cutting, yields & fabric efficiencies
          o Costing - exchange rates, garment costs, yields.
          o Freight and importation.
          o Computer knowledge - Windows, Excel, email and a sketch package
             would be advantageous e.g. Paintshop Pro, Coral Draw, Illustrator.
          o Quality control.

• Ability to sketch with an eye for form, detail and colour.
• Working in a team / people orientated business.
• Familiar with working under pressure to deadlines & delivery schedules.

 

COSTINGS
• Preparation of garment costing taking into consideration
          o Yields / Fabrics / Washing.
          o Exchange rates.
          o Freight.
          o Accessories.
          o Duty rates.
          o Profit.

• Cost comparison between varying supply sources as required.


QUALITY CONTROL
• Setting quality standards by way of specification.
• Working closely with production, purchasing and QC departments as production samples or bulk shipments deliver, to view or review production specification.
• Testing fabrics and garment embellishments where necessary, e.g. shrinkage, piling, colour fastness to light, dye migration etc.


INVOICE APPROVAL
• Responsibility for monthly sign off and approval of sampling department invoices relative to your area of responsibility or supply.

• Accuracy in garment specification.
• Accuracy in garment image and fit in line with CCC Brands standards.
• Garment quality.
• Timely delivery of specifications, samples & costs relative to deadlines.
• Creativity in design or pattern methodology ensuring production efficiencies, whilst maintaining leading edge imagery, quality & profitability.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work in a people orientated team environment.
